Traditional Chinese Medicine has been in practice for thousands of years and is based primarily on the concept of the body’s vital force Qi. Qi is thought to be a vital force of life that runs through the body. Imbalances to Qi are believed to be a result of a disturbance to the complementary forces that make up Qi called Yin and Yang. This in turn can cause disease and illness.
Ancient Chinese believed that humans are connected with nature and subject to its forces. Practiced based on a combination of several theories, including the theory of zang-fu organs and meridians, they believed that good health is achieved by restoring Qi and to do so, balancing the internal body organs and the external elements of earth, fire, wood, water and metal. Today, these principles are continued to be practiced through Traditional Chinese Medicine and at Hybrid Physiotherapy, we work through clinical assessment, diagnosis and individualised treatment using this unique TCM framework to help our clients achieve good health
